A Young Woman's Journey
Being a teenage girl is not always easy. For some girls, this development is much more difficult due to a variety of issues including mental health disorders, trauma, substance abuse, and other risk-taking behaviors. Education is essential to prepare adolescent girls for healthy, safe and productive transitions to adulthood.
A Young Woman’s Journey is an all-girls class that covers these topics and more including healthy decision making, building confidence and resilience, media awareness, connection and bonding. This class prepares girls transitioning into womanhood as we raise the next generation. We work collaboratively to develop a place in which everyone is respected and feels welcome. The Center provides a safe and supportive environment for girls to work on peer relationship, skills and communication. Healthy relationships are critical, and the class provides discussions, learning tools, and projects to promote self-awareness and healthier lifestyle.
