Donor Privacy Policy
Donor privacy is an issue we take very seriously as we want all of our donors to be able to trust that our charity will appropriately use their valuable and private information.
When you make a contribution to the Center supporting our fundraising events, we generally are required by law to collect your name, postal address, telephone number, email address, occupation, employer, and employer's address, we then send this information to our accountant who enters information in to our accounting system. They then send you a thank you letter informing the donor that we have received your donation. The information letter that you receive has your donation amount and our EIN number that your give to your accountant for tax purposes. We collect your credit/debit card information for processing your contributions. If you are a donor and have contributed to The Center for Family Outreach we collect your name, address, federal tax ID number and bank account information for your receipt of contributions. In all cases, we also may ask you for further information to manage risk and verify your identity and information, such as confirming your email address or to comply with disclosure laws. Once a year we review and update our mailing lists by verifying information given to us by our donors. We then give them the opportunity about access and opting out of having their name and address shared outside of the organization.
To contact The Center for Family Outreach to review the personal information or collected or request corrections with in our agency is quite easy for the donor. You can email the executive director at [email protected] or call the Center for Family Outreach and ask for Laurie Klith. After the information is collected she then will forward it on to our accountant to either remove or update information. The information will be have a checkoff box within our QuickBooks financial and tracking spreadsheets. This check box will indicate that the donor does not wish to have his/her personal information to be shared outside of the organization.
Web Sites. We also collect information volunteered by visitors and contributors using our donation button on our web page by completing and submitting our online forms or emailing us. When visitors, contributors or recipients visit our web sites or online forms, our servers automatically collect certain information that their web browser sends when visiting web sites in general.
As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. IP addresses, browser and session information may be used to estimate the total number of users visiting TCFFO's web sites as part of our analytics metrics.
