Pathways to Sobriety

This five month, gender- specific, intensive, substance abuse program offers substance abuse evaluation, instruction of a four step program, and case supervision for youth at the center. This program is based on a 4-Step model and focuses on life skills, enhancement, diet, nutrition, eating disorders, resiliency, group instruction and the development of self-esteem. The advantage of this kind of program is the assessment instruments (Maysi’s, Crafft and Gaines) that help determine the extent and nature of the young persons’ substance abuse problem. This program model educates and teaches young people and their parents about the consequences of substance abuse.

The experimental hands on learning component offers adolescents and opportunity to learn how “to close the door” on old habits while opening the doors of new growth and change. We work on trust, group awareness, communication, socialization, self-exploration and decision making.  The adolescent program will operate on a reward system that lets participants see the immediate consequences of their actions.
