What is The Center for Family Outreach?

Established in 2000, the Center became a 501c3 nonprofit “Family Centered Prevention Program” .
The Center for Family Outreach has a long tradition of excellence in providing education, prevention and early intervention programming for students and their families.

Our goals are to strengthen family relationships, promote positive communication and enhance, the ability to solve problems, together as a family.

Our greatest strengths are our compassion, integrity and family support we have for teenagers and their families who experience turbulent times during adolescence.

What does the Center do?

Our staff specializes in addressing challenges with adolescent behaviors and family conflict. We help find solutions together to overcome all obstacles, even through the most challenging of times.

We begin the process by identifying the immediate needs of each student and the family's unique set of strengths and challenges to determine our support plan.

Our case management process facilitates the early identification of risk factors for emotional and behavioral issues. This process determines the level of risk across a few specific areas and ultimately which educational programs are best for the student.
We also assist families with the navigation of the justice system when their child is involved, through the Diversion Program. Diversion is an alternative-to-sentencing program for students struggling with substance use, disruptive or high-risk behaviors or family conflict. This 90-day program includes educational classes on substance use, life skills, peer pressure, communication and other social skills.

Our Services

We provide high quality and individualized support services in the form of prevention, education and early intervention programming for youth ages 11 to 18 and their families. We offer services, support and mediation to overt crisis situations for families that care. Our strategies and classes target substance use, mental health issues, family conflict and high risk behaviors.

We offer a broad range of classes, including education programs on drug and alcohol addictions, anger and conflict management, improving life and communication skills and a parenting series on meeting the challenges of adolescent development. Whether you're here for your student or yourself, we offer youth and parenting classes that provide the family support you need.

Parents need clear information, practical strategies, and support from those around them. That's why we offer family resources for both the students and guardians. From therapy classes to community resources, we have plenty of ways to help parents understand their child's needs and create meaningful relationships with their child as they mature.
